About this condition

Lobomycosis is a rare chronic fungal skin infection that forms slow-growing, painless nodules resembling keloids. It mainly affects exposed skin areas and is more common in tropical regions with close contact to aquatic environments. While not life-threatening, the condition is disfiguring and requires surgical removal as antifungal drugs are ineffective.
