About this condition
A rare and serious infection where pus collects in the thymus gland located in the chest behind the breastbone, usually affecting young children or immune-compromised individuals. The infection causes chest pain, high fever, breathing difficulty, and can quickly spread to surrounding structures. Immediate hospitalization with antibiotics and possibly surgical drainage is essential to prevent life-threatening complications.
