About this condition
Reactive arthritis develops after infections like food poisoning or urinary tract infections, and is fairly common in India. Joints, especially knees and ankles, become painful and swollen 1-4 weeks after the infection. Most cases resolve within 3-6 months with rest, pain relievers, and sometimes anti-inflammatory medications.
