About this condition

This describes a situation where you have been bitten, scratched, or exposed to saliva of an animal that might have rabies, especially dogs, cats, or wild animals. Rabies is a fatal disease if not treated promptly, so immediate wound washing and getting anti-rabies vaccination within hours is critical. Never wait for symptoms to appear as rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms start.
