About this condition

A choledochal cyst is a congenital abnormal dilation or ballooning of the bile duct that carries digestive fluid from the liver. Children may develop jaundice, abdominal pain, and a palpable mass. Surgical removal is usually required to prevent complications like infections and liver damage.
